PHR Barn Safety Rules
Welcome to The Pine Hill Ranch! We want you to enjoy this place as much as we do!
- All paperwork must be filled out and on file before participating in any type of activities on the
property. If you do not have the paperwork, please notify one of the property owners, your
instructor or therapist. - Go to your instructor or therapist immediately and check in or wait in the office or arena if they are unavailable.
- DRIVE SLOWLY when coming and going. We have a lot of animals and children and their safety
is of utmost importance. - Equines are unpredictable even when well trained. Listen to your instructor.
- You will be corrected, or removed from the horse, if needed for any unsafe, unfair, or harmful
behavior. - Visiting dogs are not allowed on the grounds during therapy sessions unless they are licensed and
certified service dogs. Dogs in training are accepted. Prior arrangements for service animals are
required. If you bring a dog, it must remain in your vehicle, or you will be asked to leave. - No running, rough housing or any disruptive behavior is allowed. This distraction to the horses and
riders might cause them to become nervous. Anyone being disruptive will be asked to leave or sit
in their car. - Helmets are required by all riders in lessons, and all riders under the age of 18 years without exception. You are encouraged to purchase and bring your own helmet to ensure a proper fit, form, function and hygiene.
- Closed toe shoes are required by all riders, handlers, volunteers, instructors and therapist. Boots are preferred. (Exceptions will be allowed for riders with prior approval from their therapist or
instructor). - Be respectful of the property and dispose of all trash in a receptacle.
- Do not pet or feed any of the animals unless you have been given permission.
- Ask before using items or equipment that is not yours. Operation of all motor vehicles on the property is limited to the property owners and individuals trained.
- Siblings, friends and visitors must be under direct supervision of the person that brought them at all
times. No one is allowed to wander around the premises during lessons.
